For this project we had to describe a certain type of cancer. My choice was AML Leukemia. The reason for this choice is simple. My close friend Hope Banghart actually has AML Leukemia, so it meant alot to me to be able to research and understand the disease. (She is now in remission)

Veterans Day, 2012
Critical Thinking

Obviously I enjoyed this project, I've made a life around military service. We had to make a video about U.S. Veterans, which I no longer have, and present it to the class. I love making videos and especially if it's something I feel strongly about. That project was a marker in my school year, I really enjoyed it.

National History Day: Collaboration

The NHD project was by far my favorite of the year and had us focus mainly on teamwork. What we had to do was research a topic and make a ten min. documentary about that topic. We chose the 1st American Volunteer Group, commonly known as the Flying Tigers. I led this project and learned alot about  especially since one of the group members was challenged. It taught me to be respectful of others shortcomings and to understand that I must deploy tasks based on my members' capabilities.

Operation: Citizen

Professionalism

This project had one goal, make a difference. Our operation was simple. We plan on having the local government tie in with churches and volunteer organizations to cleanup the area around the St. Joseph River. We presented this idea to City Council on May 31, 2013 and have yet to hear weather this policy will be enacted.

Exploring Careers

Literacy

I made a video and a brochure about the Marine Corps. I described a day in the Marines and spoke about the benefits you get after you retire. I learned a lot about iMovie and word and now know how to use both proficiently.
